Celebrating the launch of her self titled new album, Legendary icon Amanda Lepore gave her first full concert Saturday night in New York City. Throngs of her admirers, fans, and friends filled the Highline Ballroom for an “I was there” For the history books occasion produced by nightlife impresarios such as Daniel Nardicio, Suzanne Bartsch, and Peace Biscuit Records

The show which was hosted by Joey Arias and opened by The One’s; featured a remarkable performance by Cazwell, of his hits like “Get My Money Back” was received by an exceptionally enthusiastic response from the crowd. Performers like Deluka and Neon Hitch are ones to watch, Deluka dropped serious drum and bass vocal driven beats on the crowd while wearing a massive Klaus Nomi like bow ensemble. Neon Hitch entered the stage with sound and fury and at one point in her show took a boy as her dog slave.

Soon after famed Photographer David La Chappelle (who watched the show from VIP with Courtney Love) took to the stage for a touching prologue based on his long history with Amanda. And then the moment, Amanda emerged onto stage carried by several tux-topped-pantsless men. Energy levels and anticipation through the roof – She wasted no time bringing the crowd through her entire catalog and even shared the stage for covers of The Scissor Sisters “Tits on the radio” with one of the bands lead singers Ana-Matronic and twisted version of “I Know What Boys Like” with the nights host, Joey Arias. Singing one her biggest hits “Champagne” Amanda was joined by more than a few peacock-feather laden show girls while bubbles drifted from the venues rafters, She also donned a pink latex bowed frock and glittered blonde coif for “My Hair looks fierce“ and it really did.

Seen in throughout the crowd was a veritable who’s who in nightlife Jon Jon Battles, Johnny Dynell, Michael T, Joey Arias, Sahara Davenport, Michael Formika Jones, Joey Israel, Sequinette, Johnny Sanford, Eric Miclette, Tyler Stone, Courtney Love, David La Chappelle, Kenny Kenny, Suzanne Bartsch, Paul Alexander, Mila Jam, Roxy Cottontail, Patrick Mc Donald, Los Angeles’ Glamorous Monique and Miami’s Wild Child.
