  • WATCH: Björk’s Ground Breaking 360° Virtual Reality Video ‘Stonemilker’

    Icelandic icon Bjork has released her stunning video for ‘Stonemilker’ for public consumption today, While the video is best viewed with a set of VR goggles , like Google Cardboard, Oculus Rift, or Samsung Gear- You can navigate the video using your mouse and explore the virtual 360 degree video stage. Expect a lot more of this technology to come.


    The video was created in collaboration between björk, inez & vinoodh and visual effects production house framestore. framestore created two main effects in the stars and the glowing embers that surround björk, as well as enhancing the video’s other-worldliness by extending her legs to unnatural proportions. the exquisite coloring for the piece was done by tim masick of company 3, turning her into the exotic, red-toothed, bronze dancer.

    MoMA has released the first trailer for Bjork’s Retrospective, The trailer highlights a commissioned sound and video installation featuring Bjork’s song “Black Lake” from the Vulnicura album. This presentation will be part of the much anticipated Björk Retrospective on display March 8–June 7, 2015.

    Inside Björk is an official documentary released by Björk on August 23, 2003. The documentary outlines the career of Björk, from her early work in Icelandic bands, to joining The Sugarcubes- to her solo work up to 2002. The documentary gives viewers a personal view into her private thoughts, views and motivations. Inside Björk also features interviews with Sean Penn, Lars von Trier,Thom Yorke, Beck, RZA, Elton John, Missy Elliott, the late Alexander McQueen and more on their thoughts of Björk and her impact on music and culture. The documentary coincided with the release of the Greatest Hits album, and had previously been seen on some television networks at the end of 2002. It was commissioned by One Little Indian to make up for the fact that Björk was beginning to do fewer interviews than had been previous. Two small new live performances are included in the documentary, “Generous Palmstroke” performed with Zeena Parkins and an organ version of “The Anchor Song” played in an Icelandic church.
